Lakes Entrance
Around the footbridge and along the sand flats for flathead and the odd tailor chasing metal lures. The Highway Bridge is landing a mixed bag. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. Offshore has pinkies, flathead and gummies. The annual Broadbill Swordfish Championships is up and running until Sunday, June 11th. Lake Tyers
Plenty of flathead around the 67cm mark are about, give Trident Arm, the main lake and around the islands a go using soft plastics. Bream and trevally are active in the main lake. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor.
Mitchell River
Bream can be found in the river mouth and into Eagle Bay, preferred baits being soft shell prawn, cut crab and plastics. Mullet and tailor are about biting on metal lures.
Tambo River
From the Power Lines along to Howard’s Flats and The Snag’s for bream, using soft shell prawn, cut crab and plastics.
Nicholson
Best spots for bream are at the Two Bridges and the Swimming Hole, best baits being cut crab, soft shell and local prawn.
Metung
Town jetties, hotel jetty and around the mouth of the Tambo are the best spots for bream.
Paynesville
Tailor are still active chasing metal lures. Try the town jetties for bream on drifting prawn.
Holland's Landing
Try Jones Bay, Blond Bay heading down to Pelican Point and onto Waddy Point for bream and the odd flathead.
Marlo
Bream can still be found in both rivers, salmon and tailor are biting on the incoming tide and from the surf beaches. Offshore for gummies and flathead.
Bemm River
The entrance is still open, bream are in the lake biting on soft plastics and prawn.
Tamboon Inlet
Bream around the 48cm mark can be found in the river mouth and Western Bay using prawn. On the incoming tide for tailor, taking lures.
Mallacoota
The top lake for bream using prawn, incoming tide has tailor taking metal lures, there is also Yellow Finned bream to be had. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor, offshore has a mixed bag.
Omeo High Country
All the High-Country rivers have decent sized trout to be had, chasing metal spinners, lures, fly patents and drifting earth worm. Please check the weather conditions before venturing out.
