East Gippsland acknowledges the Gunaikurnai, Monero and the Bidawel people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that encompasses East Gippsland Shire. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in East Gippsland, their Elders past and present.

Coopracambra National Park

Coopracambra National Park is one of the most remote areas of Victoria. Holding a high conservation value for its ecosystems, a heritage river, rare flora and fauna and it’s diverse landscapes.  The terrain is rugged, isolated, remote. It is also widely undisturbed. Beehive Falls, a magnificent cascading waterfall is worth the drive in, as is the view from the Mealing Hill helipad. Some tracks are only accessible by four-wheel drive so please check conditions before you travel. Needing more adventure? Experienced and equipped hikers can embark on extended remote “off track” walks within the wilderness and be rewarded with stunning natural scenery not too many venture far enough to see.
