Loop the Mitchell
This easy, family friendly bike ride will loop you along the Mitchell River. Featuring a number of spots to stop and unpack a picnic, beautiful Willow trees and boards of information along the track, this cycling loop is always a favourite. You will cross three bridges, including a narrow swing bridge and enjoy a mix of groomed gravel and concrete sections.
If you're traveling by car, the most convenient access points to this ride are at the bridge ends. If you're coming from Bairnsdale's main shopping area, head to Mitchell Port Road.
Families with children should make a stop at Howitt Park, which is home to a BMX track and an impressive, lengthy tunnel slide.
Take a short detour into the town centre of Bairnsdale where you can find yourself sipping a latte from one of the many popular cafes.
