The Bemm river itself winds down from the mountains and is fed by the Errinundra River, McKenzie River and Combienbar River, as well as many creeks and streams, before meeting the ocean at Sydenham Inlet.

The idyllic town sits on the far eastern fringe of the Cape Conran Coastal Park and borders the magnificent Croajingolong National Park making for one mighty destination of natural wonder. Nestled neatly between the river, the inlet and the sea, the town hosts the Bemm River Hotel, a shop and caravan park along with a number of holiday houses perfect for that casual getaway. Ensure you fuel up your car and boat before heading into Bemm River as no fuel is available locally.

Fishing is on the top of the list for most visitors. The prized target species is the mighty bream. But don’t be fooled by all the fishing lingo and this place has plenty more in the bag. Check out Luderick Point Memorial Park where the kids can have a play, cook up a snag and enjoy throwing a line from the bank or one of the many fishing platforms dotted around the town.

Pearl Point and Py-Yoot Bay are the hidden beauties located a few kilometers out of town where you can expect golden sand matched with deep blue waves and rock pools to explore for a perfect day at the beach. A whale watching platform elevates you to view the annual migration between April and November.
