Swifts creek & ensay
Weave and wind your way along the Great Alpine Road admiring the rocky cliffs, striking river bends and country farmlets. The town of Ensay, based in the Tambo Valley and lined with seasonal poplars, sets the scene for your high country endeavour. Idyllic temperatures here make for the perfect growth of olives at the Nullamunjie Olive Grove and grapes make a fresh drop at the Ensay Winery.

Experience Swift Creek & Ensay
Pencil in a stop at Connellys lookout situated between Ensay and Swifts Creek. Here you can see for miles across grazing paddocks, crops and mountain ranges. Get up closer to the land by hiking, cycling or swimming your way around the backroads and rivers. Go bush and 4WD your way through Brookvillle and visit the Dog’s Grave, or do a loop track to the ever popular camping spot of Nunniong High Plain and finish off with a hit of golf at the Tambo Valley Golf Club. Entering Swifts Creek, a working saw mill brings you right back to another era and you can imagine exactly what the towns would have been like in the golden days of gold mining and logging. Venture further and take the back road between Swifts Creek and Omeo to explore the historic Cassilis. Once a thriving mining community and now a ghost town and home to the original goldfields. The 3600 hectare Cassilis Historic Area mines are now a popular attraction along with a number of walks featuring relics of the gold mining era. After all the exploring you are going to love the Great Alpine Gallery. A beautiful place to take a look at works by local artists who are clearly inspired by the beautiful surroundings.
