Thursday 3rd March

Lakes Entrance

Good whiting can be found at the Myer Street and Floating Dragon jetties on pipis. Bullock Island and Kalimna jetty for bay trout, taking metal lures. Barrier Landing and the surrounding Islands for whiting up around the 42cm mark, biting on pipis. Offshore at the Six and Eight-Mile reefs and Pipeline are landing good pinkies, flathead, snapper and gummies.

Lake Tyers

Bream are around the channel markers, Mill Point and up around Cameron’s Arm. In the shallow banks you can find flathead, best results try prawn and soft plastics. Also give Pile Bay Creek a go?

Mitchell River

The best spot for bream at the moment is at The Two Bell’s, all the way to the river mouth, biting on spider and cut crab. Flathead and garfish are down on the River Flats.

Tambo River

The river is still a bit muddy looking but try the river mouth, best baits are spider and cut crab.

Nicholson

This river is also still a bit dirty looking so try around the river mouth for bream, with cut crab, soft plastics and spider crab.

Metung

Nungurner jetty area is worth a look for whiting, try also the Island, Reedy Bay, Chinaman’s and Boxes Creek.

Paynesville

Town jetties and the Strait for bream and mullet. Also give the back of Raymond Island a try for whiting on the usual baits.

Holland’s Landing

Try the Strait for bream, flathead and mullet using prawns, soft plastic’s and worms for the best results. Lake Victoria for tailor, mullet and garfish.

Marlo

The Snowy River and into Marlo is still on the muddy side, therefore fishing is a bit quiet, try the surf beach and offshore for better results.

Bemm River

The Lake and the Channel for bream and flathead, taking live mullet and surface lures. The entrance is still closed.

Tamboon Inlet

Bream, around 45cm’s can be found in the river with the best results on cut crab, on the Western Bay side for flathead best baits are metal lures and soft plastics.

Mallacoota

With rainwater entering the system the best spot is the bottom of the lake for bream and flathead. Also try offshore for a mixed bag.

Omeo High Country

Water conditions are very good, the Mitta Mitta has good trout and some perch. There has also been some carp taken as well.
