Thursday 10th February

Lakes Entrance

There are still plenty of King George whiting to be had taking pipis, mussels and worm. Snapper can be found around the Myer Street jetty and flathead near the Aqua Park shed as well as the Sandy Spit, on plastics and prawn. Try the surf beaches for salmon and tailor. Offshore at Six Mile Reef are landing snapper, but the water is murky and the fishing slow.

Lake Tyers

The lake is producing good bream and flathead, best results on prawn, soft plastics and vibes. Trevally can be found from No 2 boat ramp all the way up to Nowa Nowa.

Mitchell River

Best spots for flathead are the Two Bells, along the Silt Jetties and towards the river mouth, best baits are soft plastics and prawn. Perch are out and about in the back water and the football ground, taking hard body lures.

Tambo River

The river is still dirty and the fishing can be a bit slow but give Tambo Bay and The Snags are worth a try using all baits.

Nicholson

Fish are a bit hard to find at the moment, with the river being dirty, give around the river mouth a go.

Metung

Shaving Point and Chinaman”s Creek are the best spots for bream and whiting, using prawn, pipis and mussels.

Paynesville

The system is a bit dirty, but some tailor and whiting are getting about on usual baits.

Holland’s Landing

No report for this week.

Marlo

Bream and luderick are active in the system. Surf beach for salmon and tailor. Offshore is a mixed bag.

Bemm River

The Entrance is open, bream, tailor and flathead can be found in the lake and channel, best results using prawn, soft plastics and surface lures.

Tamboon Inlet

Bream are in the system, biting on cut crab, prawn, and soft plastics. The Entrance is open, with the surf beaches landing salmon and tailor on the usual baits.

Mallacoota

You can find bream and flathead in the bottom lake on soft plastics and prawn. Surf beaches, The Entrance and Davis Creek for salmon and tailor biting on the usual baits.

Omeo High Country

All the rivers are in good condition and have been catching good fish, with best results using earth worm, soft plastics, lures and spinners.
