Lakes Entrance 

The footbridge and around the Islands for whiting on the usual baits. Flathead, trevally and the odd King Fish have been landed around the shallow banks. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor, taking pilchards and poppers. Offshore at Six Mile Reef and the Pipeline for a mix bag.

Lake Tyers

Bream are around Number 2 boat ramp and up to the Water Wheel Tavern. The Glass House and towards the islands for flathead, best results using local prawn and plastics. The beach for salmon using the usual baits.

Mitchell River

Picnic Point have bass taking soft plastics and hard body lures. From Shadoof Lodge, Two Bells and the river mouth for bream on soft shell or spider crab.

Tambo River

Try the Snags, the river mouth, Salt Creek, The Three Gums, Tambo Light and Tambo Bay for bream.

Nicholson

The river mouth, the Swimming Hole and Thumb point is the best spot for bream, using local prawn, soft plastics and spider crabs.

Metung

Whiting are starting to head down to Metung from Paynesville. The Board Walk and Chinaman’s Creek for bream.

Paynesville

Raymond Island and Port Montague for flathead using local prawn and soft plastics. Whiting are heading towards Metung and Shaving Point.

Holland's Landing

The McLennan Strait, Wood Pile, Hollands Landing and into Bull Bay are the best spots for bream, also give Blonde Bay reserve a try, best results using prawn and soft plastics.

Marlo

On the incoming tide, bream, luderick, whiting, salmon and tailor are being caught. Offshore for a mixed bag including King Fish and Blue Fin tuna.

Bemm River

In the lake for bream and flathead, on plastics and local prawn, try the channel and surf beach for salmon and tailor.

Tamboon Inlet

In the lake for tailor chasing silver lures, pinkies at the football ground on pilchards, shrimp and crab, the surf beach for salmon using pilchards and poppers.

Mallacoota

The top and bottom lakes have mulloway, bream and flathead, chasing plastics and hard body lures.

Omeo High Country

There is still plenty of fish in the rivers, but recent rains have made the water dirty and the temperature cooler, preferred baits being floating worm, fly patents and lures.
