Thursday 29th December

Lakes Entrance 

Lakes Entrance The footbridge and floating pontoon for pinkies, whiting, salmon, trevally and tailor are active in Cunninghame Arm and some king fish have been landed. Surf for salmon, tailor and gummies. Offshore at 6 Mile Reef and Pipeline for a mixed bag.

Lake Tyers

The entrance is still open, bream and flathead are around the shallow banks, and in the main lake, taking local prawn and hard body lures. Give Trident Arm a go as well.

Mitchell River

Bream are active from Shadoof Lodge on to The Cut taking metal lures, spider crab, prawn and soft shell. The back water is producing perch and bass chasing metal lures and metal vibes.

Tambo River

From the Power Lines to Punt House Point and all the way down to The Snags are best for bream also try Salt Creek, best baits being local prawn and cut crab.

Nicholson

Try the Cliffs, the Car Bodies, down to the Pear Tree then all the way down to Jones’ Bay for bream, perch, tailor and mullet, preferred baits are drifting plastic lures, local prawn and crab.

Metung

Whiting are active around the Islands towards Lake King, along the boardwalk, Chinaman’s Creek and Box’s Creek as well.

Paynesville

Carstairs Bank for whiting, juvenile salmon are active in the area, town jetties for bream taking local prawn.

Holland's Landing

The odd trout is still being caught at Loch Sport. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on usual baits

Marlo

Offshore for a mixed bag. The system is producing good fish with plenty of bream biting on local prawn. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor and bronzes are also about.

Bemm River

Salmon are in the channel, bream and flathead are in the lake chasing plastics and local prawn.

Tamboon Inlet

Salmon are in the lake with metal lures yielding best results. Try the river for bream on local prawn and shrimp. Flathead are active in the system too.

Mallacoota

Top and bottom lakes for bream and flathead on soft plastics and local prawn. Give the surf beaches and Harrison’s Channel a try for salmon and tailor.

Omeo High Country

 High country rivers are producing good fish. Best results on metal lures, spinners, wobblers, fly patterns as well as drifting worm.
