Description
The Bemm River Scenic Reserve is located 30 km west of Cann River and 45 km east of Orbost on the Princes Highway(A1). The McKenzie River Rainforest Walk is the perfect place for travellers to break their drive and experience one of the treasures of East Gippsland. There is a picnic area, toilets and parking for caravans and buses.
The walk is a 1km loop and consists of a sealed pathway, boardwalks and two swing bridges over the picturesque McKenzie River, providing visitors with the opportunity to view the magnificent surrounding riparian forest within the canopy It will take about 45 minutes to complete at a relaxed pace.
Information boards along the walk provide information into the forest and the species it protects which help shape this significant area.
Not recommended for wheelchair access.
