Weekly Fishing Report 

Lakes Entrance

Trevally are at the Post Office jetty taking pilchards. Luderick are still about the rock wall and up to Kalimna jetty on weed. Plenty of salmon at Eastern Beach, give Bunga Beach a try as well, best baits are pilchards, poppers and lures. Offshore at Six Mile Reef, 7kg snapper are being landed with gummies being closer into the beach. Water temp is at 15.5 degrees.

Lake Tyers

The lake system is producing good size bream, flathead and trevally. The surf beach is producing good gummies, bronze whalers and salmon.

Mitchell River

The best spot for bream currently is from the Grassy Banks, The Cut, Two Bell’s and down to the river mouth. Best results using prawn, spider crab, cut crab and mussels.

Tambo River

Best spots for bream are the Highway Bridge, to the Rough Road, the Three Gums and down to the Snags, best results using cut crab, spider crab, plastics and local prawn.


Give the Strait Six, Car Bodies, between the 2 bridges to the 2nd fence and Thumb Point a go for bream. The baits of choice being local prawn, cut crab, spider crab and soft plastics.


Whiting can still be found around the town jetties, also try Nungurner. Best baits, pipis, mussels and squid legs.


The Strait for bream and mullet, there are some luderick around taking worm.

Holland’s Landing

Storm Point and Blonde Bay are worth a look for bream, try the river mouths of Tom’s Creek and Jones’s Bay as well. Good results with prawn, cut crab and spider crab.


Try Brodribb River for bream, with a 42cm being caught at Lake Corringle on sand worm. Salmon and tailor are being caught on the incoming tide. Surf beach is landing salmon on pilchards and poppers. Offshore for pinkies, flathead and gummy shark.

Bemm River

Bream are still in the river and the lake taking worm and prawn. Salmon can be found at the surf beach on pilchards and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet

The river for bream and up to Furnell Landing, best baits are prawn and cut crab. Eagan’s Bank are producing good flathead with prawn and lures. Surf beach for salmon taking all baits presented including pilchards and lures.


Flathead, bream, tailor and perch are active throughout the system, best results using soft plastics.

Omeo High Country

All the rivers in the High-Country area are producing good fish, best results are with earth worm, lures or soft plastics, give fly patterns a try as well.
