Thursday 13th January

Lakes Entrance

Try the footbridge for whiting and trevally taking pipis and mussels. There are good catches of salmon on the beaches using squid, pilchards and lures. Offshore Six Mile reef for snapper and the pipeline is also producing good catches.

Lake Tyers

Flathead and bream are being caught taking prawn and mussels. Good catches have been reported at Fisherman’s Landing.

Mitchell River

Last week’s rain has made the river quite dirty. However, if you like eels there are plenty around. There have been some catches of tailor at the mouth.

Tambo River

Despite there being plenty of people trying, there has not been much happening this week as the water is too dirty.

Nicholson

The river is quiet this week as the rain has made it quite dirty.

Metung

Whiting and trevally are abundant at both Nungurner and Metung jetties and Shaving Point.

Paynesville

Throughout the strait there have been catches of bream mostly directly under the jetties. Casting lures out into the strait may land some tailor. Try Newlands Arm for flathead.

Holland’s Landing

No fishing report for this week.

Marlo

The rivers and estuary are quite dirty due to last week’s rain. Offshore there have been good catches of flathead and gummy. Try the surf beaches for salmon and tailor.

Bemm River

The entrance is still open, so fishing has been good this week. In the channel and the lake there has been plenty of bream taking local prawn, soft plastics and sandworm. The surf has been good for salmon on pilchards.

Tamboon Inlet

The river is good for bream taking cut crab. Pelican Point is also good for bream on blue bait and pilchards.

Mallacoota

Salmon are on the beaches taking metal lures. Plenty of kingfish offshore. Flathead have been quiet this week.

Omeo High Country

Last week’s rain has caused many of the rivers to be in flood, so not much fishing happening
