East Gippsland Fishing Report - Thursday 13th July

Lakes Entrance 

Grass whiting and luderick can be found around Kalimna Jetty. North Arm and Cunninghame Arm for salmon, trevally and tailor, surf beaches are landing tailor and salmon on pilchards and poppers. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for a mixed bag with gummies being caught closer to the beach.

Lake Tyers

Bream around the 41cm mark are active from the Devils Hole up to Nowa Nowa, also in the lake and in Blackfellows Arm. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor. Water temp is sitting around 10⁰ - 11.5⁰

Mitchell River

The highway bridge and Wy Yung bridge for perch chasing metal lures, Bream are active at The Cut, around the river mouth and into Eagle Point Bay.

Tambo River

Reminder that the Twin Rivers comp is on this weekend. For bream try from the Powerlines to the Log Hole up to the Tambo Upper Road, river mouth and the Snags with sandworm, soft shell, cut crab, spider crab and soft plastics

Nicholson

From the boat ramp, the Two Bridges, the Car Bodies, Strait Six, The Poplars, and towards The Junction for bream, best results with using soft shell, prawn, cut crab, spider crab, drifting prawn, worm and soft plastics.

Metung

Town jetties, Chinamans Creek, and Boxes Creek for trevally which are taking prawn. Give Nungurner a look for Grass whiting.

Paynesville

Try Resides Jetty, the town jetties, Banksia Peninsula, Duck Arm and The Straits for bream. Luderick are about taking weed.

Holland's Landing

The Rock Groynes on the Southern side for bream, mullet, and tailor, also try Storm Point, Blonde Bay and Tom’s Creek.

Marlo

Bream are active in the Snowy, luderick are around taking weed. Salmon and tailor are chasing lures on the incoming tide. Surf beaches have tailor and salmon, offshore for pinkies.

Bemm River

Salmon and tailor can be found in the channel using lures, bream are in the lake biting on local prawn.

Tamboon Inlet

Fisherman’s Landing and in the lake for bream on local prawn, and crab. Trevally are active using pilchards, salmon are at Old Man Point and Peters Rock.

Mallacoota

For bream give Gypsy Point a go with crab and local prawn. On the incoming tide for tailor chasing metal lures. Surf beaches have salmon and tailor, offshore for a good mixed bag.

Omeo High Country

Closed Season.
