Every stop—from the lakeside walkways of Lakes Entrance to the inclusive Aquadome, the creative spaces in Orbost, the easy-going charm of Sailors Grave Brewery in Marlo, and relaxed meals at Lake Tyers Tavern—is selected for its welcoming, accessible design. You’ll find wheelchair-friendly paths, venues with step-free access, flexible seating, and facilities set up so all travellers can take part comfortably. Whether you roll, walk, or cruise along, you won’t have to think twice about getting around. Here, accessibility isn’t an add-on—it’s just how things are done, so you can focus on enjoying the scenery, the company, and the real East Gippsland experience.

Lakes Entrance - Day 1

Morning

Start your day with a leisurely stroll across the historic Lakes Entrance Footbridge.

The wheelchair-accessible pathways make it easy for everyone to enjoy the scenic walk. Immerse yourself in the cultural experience by admiring the beautiful sculptures that tell the dreamtime stories of Gunai-Kurnai creation. 

The Esplanade

After your walk, treat yourself to some lunch from one of the many cafes along the Esplanade.

Stop into Wonkadoo Lounge for a sweet treat while taking in the picturesque views of Lakes Entrance.

Spend your afternoon playing mini golf at one of the four courses in Lakes Entrance. Each course offers a unique experience with varying levels of accessibility.

Big Bears Donuts & Float Slipway

Morning

Start your day with a visit to Big Bears Donuts.

Grab a coffee and indulge in one of their famous donuts or go all out with the Lakes Entrance Briefcase, which includes six different varieties.

The seating is designed to accommodate everyone, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.  

A short stroll west and you’ll come to Float Slipway, where you can get a beautiful view of the lake, and enjoy browse many treasures made by local artists. 

Peels Cruises

After your sweet treat, head to Peels Cruises for a memorable cruise on the Gippsland Lakes. The Thunderbird boat offers wheelchair accessibility, allowing everyone to enjoy the scenic journey.

Keep an eye out for wildlife like Seals, Dolphins, and Sea Eagles, while your expert Skipper shares fascinating insights about the region’s history and wildlife.

Lunch onboard the cruise or in town

Enjoy lunch onboard the cruiser or head back to Lakes Entrance to dine at a waterfront restaurant or cafe.

Afternoon

Spend your afternoon at the Lakes Entrance Aquadome. This accessible facility offers everything you need for a fun and inclusive swim, including a 25m indoor pool, hydraulic hoists, and an aquatic wheelchair.

Fish & Chips on the Esplanade

Cap off your day with a delicious meal of local fish and chips on the Esplanade, enjoying the sunset taking in the beautiful views.

Orbost Exhibition Centre - Day 3

Start your day with a visit to the Orbost Exhibition Centre. This accessible venue showcases an impressive collection of wood design, visual arts, and performing arts.

Friendly volunteers are on hand to enhance your experience, making this a highlight of your visit to Orbost.

Located just outside Marlo, Sailors Grave Dunetown offers a unique and laid-back brewery experience featuring locally crafted beers. The venue provides step-free access and designated accessible parking, ensuring visitors of all abilities can enjoy the relaxed setting and range of locally inspired craft beers in a welcoming environment.

After enjoying a day in Orbost, head back to Lake Tyers for dinner at the Lake Tyers Tavern.
