Lakes Explorer offers a water taxi service (up to four passengers) to visit remote lake-side jetties and beaches near Lakes Entrance. Fees are based on distance, number of passengers or time. Destinations include Lakes Entrance, Barrier Landing, Rigby Island, Kalimna, Nyerimilang Jetty, Fraser Island Retreat (guests only).

Expected to start in late February 2026, Lakes Explorer Wildlife Boat tours will operate on the eastern end of the Gippsland Lakes with a focus on fur seals, pelicans and occasionally dolphins. With a capacity of two or three persons, there will be one or two hour options departing from Lakes Entrance. Departs as required, if weather and tides are suitable.

All Water-Taxi and Wildlife Tours are run by Skipper Pete, a Certified ECO-Guide with Eco-Tourism Australia, a former Marine National Park Ranger, a qualified tour guide and member of Birdlife Australia. Lakes Explorer is a Licensed Tour Operator (DEECA Parks Victoria).

Skipper occasionally conducts walking tours around Lakes Entrance for one to two hours with maximum 10 persons.
