With a Beady Eye, Bushfire and Beyond depicts Elizabeth Blakeman’s experience of the night their farm burned in December 2019, and of her family’s survival. It depicts the rain, their fatigue, the assessment of loss, and of their gratitude. It also records her recovery, particularly measured by the pleasure in the plant life recovery, and acceptance of the future, whatever it may hold.
