Deanne Howlett’s exhibition One Drop responds to the growing issue of microplastic pollution and its impact on the natural environment. Inspired by the discovery of microplastics not only in oceans and waterways, but also in rain droplets and the atmosphere, Howlett’s work explores the relationship between human impact and the fragile ecosystems that surround the community.
Through her practice, Howlett invites audiences to consider the unseen presence of plastic pollution and the broader environmental consequences of everyday materials. One Drop reflects on the interconnectedness of water, weather and the natural world, encouraging reflection on the changes occurring within our environment.
There will be a special opening event at 5.30 PM on Friday 23 October. Entry is free and all are welcome to attend.
