The Buchan Munji (Buchan Caves Reserve) will reopen to visitors ahead of the Easter long weekend following months of recovery works to safely restore the park following major flooding that hit the area on Boxing Day. The reserve will open on Tuesday 26 March 2024.

Bairnsdale Visitor Information Centre, in East Gippsland, is ideally situated at the start of the Great Alpine Road and a focal point on the Sydney to Melbourne Coastal Route serving both the Gippsland Lakes to the east and the High Country to the north.

Bairnsdale Visitor Centre provides not only information but offers a free booking service for accommodation and for the many tours around the Gippsland Lakes Region by land sea and air. In addition fishing licences, television or video display and Laminating service (to A3) are available.
