Overview

Open Hours: Times vary each day; based on suitable weather, tides and wildlife viewing opportunities. Various Departure Jetties.

EDUCATIONAL WILDLIFE BOAT TOURS:
1 or 2 hour. (See latest brochure)
Operates 3 or 4 days a week.
*** No planned Wildlife Tours between mid- December 2023 and late-January 2024 as our focus will be our Water-Taxi service to remote jetties.

ALL TOURS are personal service, flexible itineraries and no microphones….
1 HOUR TOUR; $60 per tour ($20 or $30pp). Educative BOAT TOUR around harbour and ocean entrance. View the Fur-Seal colony if tides are suitable. Designed for 2 or 3 passengers only. May take 4 passengers if weather and tides are suitable (still $60).
2 HOUR BOAT TOUR including short guided walk for up 2 or 3 persons only. Focus on local wildlife including Pelicans, Seals and occasionally Dolphins. May include a short guided walk. $100 per tour ($34 or $50pp).

WATER-TAXI service:
Up to 4 persons. Water-taxi is a quick one-way trip to or from LAKES ENTRANCE to Ocean Entrance, Barrier Landing, Nyerimilang Jetty or North Arm Jetties . 2, 3 or 4 persons. Multiple trips for larger groups. Designed for access to remote locations; Jetties, houses, moorings, walking tracks and beaches. Operates on calm waterways within 10km of Lakes Entrance. $10-$25pp each way.

OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF…,,
8.30am-6pm (maybe later in Summer).
Available 3 or 4 days a week.
Minimum fee 2 persons.

No on-board toilet however public toilets are near departure jetties.

All trips are run by Skipper Pete, who is a Coxswain, a Certified Eco-Guide by Eco-Tourism Australia (Only Certified ECO-guide working in East Gippsland). Licensed Tour Operator (DEECA-Parks Victoria), qualified Tour Guide, former National Park Ranger (Coastal & Marine), member of Birdlife Australia and member of Wildlife Tourism Australia. Involved in several wildlife citizen science projects.

LAKES-EXPLORER offers either….

1. a quick commercial WATER-TAXI service to remote jetties within 10km of Lakes Entrance.

2. educational WILDLIFE BOAT TOURS (1 or 2 hours). *** No planned Wildlife Tours between mid-December and late-January.

Capacity is 4 passengers for Water-Taxi and 3 passengers for Wildlife Boat Tours. Minimum 2 passengers.
