The Buchan Munji (Buchan Caves Reserve) will reopen to visitors ahead of the Easter long weekend following months of recovery works to safely restore the park following major flooding that hit the area on Boxing Day. The reserve will open on Tuesday 26 March 2024.

East Gippsland acknowledges the Gunaikurnai, Monero and the Bidawel people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that encompasses East Gippsland Shire. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in East Gippsland, their Elders past and present.

lindenow.1

A township of around 300 people located half way between Bairnsdale and the Mitchell River National Park, Lindenow sits at the centre of an intensive horticulture area on the fertile Mitchell River floodplain and services the surrounding rural district. The area is home to some of the most productive agricultural land in East Gippsland and produces top quality vegetables and high-grade fine wool and dairy products.

Tour these lush fertile valleys and flats and see where Australia’s premium vegetables are grown; produce grown here is sold all around Australia. To really explore this picturesque part of East Gippsland, continue along the road to the remote community of Dargo, nestled in the foothills of the Dargo High Plains and a gateway to the Alpine National Park and Mitchell River National Park.
